Netfox is live — and now on Product Hunt
The first native macOS network monitor is here — and we need your vote.
Hey there,
Welcome to the very first Netfox newsletter. If you’re reading this, you probably care about knowing what’s happening on your home network — without handing your data to someone else’s cloud. That’s exactly why Netfox exists.
What is Netfox?
Netfox is a native macOS network monitor. Open it, and you see every device on your local network — Apple gadgets, smart TVs, IoT sensors, printers, guest phones — in one live window.
It combines five discovery protocols (Bonjour, ARP, SSDP, NetBIOS, and active probing) so it catches devices that single-protocol scanners miss. Every device gets a full history: first seen, last seen, every online/offline transition, every IP or hostname change. That timeline persists across launches.
Five types of alerts keep you informed: new device, returning after long absence, risky arrival, port-state change, new service discovered.
And a one-click Security Scan checks common ports on every reachable device, with findings explained in plain English — no sysadmin log to decode.
It’s built 100% in SwiftUI for macOS 15+. No Electron, no web views. No cloud, no account, no telemetry. Your data stays on your Mac.
It’s free.
