First application from Adobe AIR: Desktop Alpha Blogbabel Rank
Update: Blogbabel closed - all services, widgets and plugins are no longer active
When you must "verify" a new technology, the best thing to do is find an application to write and work hard to achieve it. In this way you learn a lot in a short time. You have to have a goal, really! I state that I have nothing to do with Blogbabel Italy. Some will think that I work for them ...
Absolutely not! The reason I chose to accomplish this is due to the fact that I had the code in Flash (Actionscript 3.0 final release) and I wanted to see what was going on re-writing the application in AIR / HTML. And then, now, I am attached to this "smash" the ranking Blogbabel ![]()
To achieve this "first" AIR application after numeose tests, I only used Dreamweaver. Blogbabel Rank totalemte is written in AIR / HTML. To install the runtime download Adobe AIR and click here .
Photoshop tutorial: planet with rising sun
STEP 1
Create an image of 800 × 600 pixels. Add a layer (bck) - which will be our background - and draw space. It must be a dark picture! You can enjoy you realize it or place (as I did), some spectacular images of NASA, by adjusting the levels so that it is still dark. From the Filter menu select Render / Lens Flare - we create our sun! You can do this "rise" where you want ... I have placed at the center to the top of the picture:

Photoshop Study: hivesoft
As predicted Julius arrive early requests for logo redesign ... from friends who, rightly, they said "and me?". Obviously pity ... and because I do as a job is because I have family! ![]()
However, as usual, I started with:

SIMPLE WEB 2.0 STYLE
Extremely simple! I wanted to play on hexagons of the hive ...

A logo, in my opinion, is "beautiful" when it can be seen in two colors.

VARIANT "PHOTOREALISTICA"?
This is a test ... is not really a logo! It differs from the precedent for the "style" of the sudden, nothing more.
Photoshop alpha: difference between opacity and fill
If an example is worth a thousand explanations, here is how to understand the difference between the percentage of transparency (alpha) of the property opacity and fill rate. Both, in fact, act on the layer and, in some cases appear truly identical. However, if Adobe has separated, there is a reason! The difference is simple: opacity acts on the entire layer, including effects. Filling, however, is limited to the content of the layer without affecting any additional effects. Create an image similar to the one shown below:

Alternatively by setting opacity of 10% to 10% and then fill, we soon become aware of the difference:

All this can be useful, for example, to make things like this:

Photoshop Study: JuliusDesign logo redesign
Sometimes I like to rework some nice logo ... As I see JuliusDesign has just revamped its look, I could not resist the temptation to "fiddle" with the handsome new logo designed by him!
ORIGINAL
This is the logo from where I started, simple, web2.0 style, perfect!

IDEA
Among other things, appeno I saw reminded me of something oriental. I see in a Ninja - or thereabouts - overturned. If anything, with two eyes:

Here is a reworking spectacular! Lux formed, so to speak.
With background and reflex starts ...
Case Study
I thought about how many "sketches" and case studies I have done for clients, so I decided to present them with their own category (Case Study), rather than let them "rot" in my HD. The client, in fact, choose one of the n proposals, often what you do not expect and others, some you thought valid, remain unknown zipped in HD! The proposed graphics for a Web site, for example, or simple logos or studies of the effects.
