Photoshop tutorial: planet with rising sun

image

STEP 1

Create an image of 800 × 600 pixels. Add a layer (bck) - which will be our background - and draw space. It must be a dark picture! You can enjoy you realize it or place (as I did), some spectacular images of NASA, by adjusting the levels so that it is still dark. From the Filter menu select Render / Lens Flare - we create our sun! You can do this "rise" where you want ... I have placed at the center to the top of the picture:

Photoshop Study: hivesoft

As predicted Julius arrive early requests for logo redesign ... from friends who, rightly, they said "and me?". Obviously pity ... and because I do as a job is because I have family! ;)

However, as usual, I started with:

ORIGINAL

HiveSoft

SIMPLE WEB 2.0 STYLE

Extremely simple! I wanted to play on hexagons of the hive ...

HiveSoft

A logo, in my opinion, is "beautiful" when it can be seen in two colors.

HiveSoft

VARIANT "PHOTOREALISTICA"?

This is a test ... is not really a logo! It differs from the precedent for the "style" of the sudden, nothing more.

Photoshop alpha: difference between opacity and fill

Photoshop If an example is worth a thousand explanations, here is how to understand the difference between the percentage of transparency (alpha) of the property opacity and fill rate. Both, in fact, act on the layer and, in some cases appear truly identical. However, if Adobe has separated, there is a reason! The difference is simple: opacity acts on the entire layer, including effects. Filling, however, is limited to the content of the layer without affecting any additional effects. Create an image similar to the one shown below:

PhotoshopPhotoshop

Alternatively by setting opacity of 10% to 10% and then fill, we soon become aware of the difference:

All this can be useful, for example, to make things like this:

IDEA

Among other things, appeno I saw reminded me of something oriental. I see in a Ninja - or thereabouts - overturned. If anything, with two eyes:

Case Study

I thought about how many "sketches" and case studies I have done for clients, so I decided to present them with their own category (Case Study), rather than let them "rot" in my HD. The client, in fact, choose one of the n proposals, often what you do not expect and others, some you thought valid, remain unknown zipped in HD! The proposed graphics for a Web site, for example, or simple logos or studies of the effects.

Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended

Those who are lucky like me to own the new Adobe Photoshop CS3 - Extended version - it will "grogiolato" to see all the news of this new release. Among the many new features in version 10.0.1 Two in particular struck me for their extremely useful. The first is the instrument dials:

image

This allows, for example, of "contour" an object in a simple and effective. Once selected, simply click on the image that we want to capture him and do the rest. It is possible, during this process, remove any selections that do not satisfy us, usually with the Alt key (on Windows - what used to elimnare share with the other selection tool). Furthermore, in the top toolbar, it is possible to adjust the amplitude of the "brush" selection, until arriving to operate pixel by pixel.

This feature is coupled perfectly with the second new feature found in Adobe Photoshop CS3 : improves board, accessible from the Select menu (Alt + Ctrl + R).

Refine Edge

Given a selection, this tool allows you to run a series of operations really useful and interesting, with a real-time preview adjustable form by any images that you see at the bottom of the window above. In addition to being useful for improving the edges during the operations of contour and selection, also allows to perform rework of simple images, such as that shown below:

Refine Edge

From the rough and "square" image of the left, by using Refine Edge has arrived in a flash to the right figure.
